Or sit around a large crackling bonfire on the newly constructed fire pit, (firewood provided!). Inside the cabin are cathedral ceilings for a spacious open feeling, beautiful oak flooring throughout, rustic knotty pine walls, and a large stone gas fireplace (for an instant cozy fire!). Enjoy the modern fully equipped kitchen and dining area with pond/mountain views, or “chill out” on the large covered deck overlooking the pond. And a combination bedroom/den with sliding glass door lets you enjoy the wonderful open views from the comfort of your own room. What to do when you’re not relaxing in the gazebo, eating on the deck, or basking in front of a warm fire?? Fish! Fish from the shore of the pond below the cabin, just a few steps from the gazebo and barbecue deck! Fish for trout, and bass and various other fish. Fish on the “lower pond”, a 5-acre pond on a George Washington National Forest nature preserve just a short walk away! Fish on the incomparable Shenandoah River! | Paddle! Seven canoe/kayak/tubing put-ins within 10 miles of the cabin (count ‘em!), and the full- service Shenandoah River Outfitters less than a short walk away! For whitewater enthusiasts (like the cabin owners), take your pick of numerous fabulous small rivers/creeks less than an hour away: Thornton River, Hughes River, Robinson River, Cedar Creek, Passage Creek, Stony Creek, & the upper North Fork of the Shenandoah.* * These creeks/rivers are normally paddleable only in the winter, early spring, and after periods of sustained or heavy rain. Hike!
