Fish from the shore of the pond below the cabin, just a few steps from the gazebo and barbecue deck! Fish for trout, and bass and various other fish. Fish on the “lower pond”, a 5-acre pond on a George Washington National Forest nature preserve just a short walk away! Fish on the incomparable Shenandoah River! For whitewater enthusiasts (like the cabin owners), take your pick of numerous fabulous small rivers/creeks less than an hour away: Thornton River, Hughes River, Robinson River, Cedar Creek, Passage Creek, Stony Creek, & the upper North Fork of the Shenandoah.* * These creeks/rivers are normally paddleable only in the winter, early spring, and after periods of sustained or heavy rain. Hike!
