| Perched at the foot of Massenutten Mountain, backed by the George Washington National Forrest, and overlooking the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains beyond, Valley View cabin is an inviting little escape. Completely rebuilt (only the brick fireplace remains) in 2008 by a local artisan, the house features exposed wood beams (some still have bark) and richly paneled walls of hand milled local lumber, with picture windows exposing the lovely view of the valley below. The builder's artistry is evident in every corner. The house can easily sleep four, with a queen bed in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the family room. Comfortably furnished with all new appliances, charcoal grill, flat screen televisions, DVD players and satellite TV, books, games and movies, you can enjoy the wonderful activities and sites of the area or simply sit on the deck, enjoy the view and exhale. About two and a half hours from downtown Washington DC and less than two hours from Dulles International Airport, the house is the perfect opportunity to unplug and enjoy the unparalled beauty of the Shenandoah Valley and river. Whether you enjoy a day on the river, exploring local wineries, or chilling out all weekend - you'll find it all here. If you've never had a mountain vacation before, prepare to fall in love, no matter what the season is. Activities include enjoying the Shenandoah River right down the street, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, white water rafting, tubing, the Luray Caverns, exploring downtown, or just sitting on the deck and relaxing. Pets are very welcome! Please see the rates schedule for the minimal pet fees. We invite you to come discover this retreat and it's charming surroundings, and to revisit again and again as the paneling mellows with age and the seasons change.
